Welcome to our first newsletter!
Some of you have maintained regular contact with us whilst many of you have not heard from us for a while; thank you so much to all of you who have been standing by us, supporting us, thinking of us and praying for us. This has given us enormous strength and courage to continue. We could not have come this far without
Not quite a year ago, on 1st February, we started our new phase of community: the mediation process concluded, finally; Our relationship with CVT changed and those of us living in Botton have become tenants of CVT, renting 13 shared households and 3 individual houses/flats, in which we can now live together; adults, some with
disabilities, and families, some with children. We are also renting 3 properties locally in Castleton and Ainthorpe for Co-worker families not allowed to live in Botton.
Our new shared living households are in partnership with the Avalon Group, North Yorkshire's Shared Lives provider, who are responsible for the regulatory aspects of supporting and caring for vulnerable adults in the community. We are very much enjoying working together with them.
In April we held a launch event in Danby Village Hall, which was attended by many of you and so many friends, parents and local people, making for a very celebratory day with presentations by Avalon and ourselves. At this event, we launched our Healing Through Community project and our Micro-bakery and kicked off the fundraising
for both. We also launched our new website, which now includes an online shop - do go and have a browse! EVCC was also admitted as a full member of the Association of Camphill Communities at the AoCC AGM.
You can read below all about the exciting progress of each of our projects.
