Vacancy: Community gardener

We are looking for a gardener for our community. We hope to find someone who wants to practice and develop Biodynamic gardening and wants to live and work as a member of our Camphill community.

The land that Esk Valley Camphill community owns, where we are growing vegetables, herbs and fruit, is three acres and located in Ainthorpe, close to Botton Village.

On the same premises is the herb workshop and one of our Shared Lives households, Homefield.
The garden is one of our main workshops. Most of the vegetables are enjoyed within the community. There are also 50 chickens.

The post involves :

  • Have an oversight of the day to day running of the garden
  • Lead the garden team and provide meaningful work for its members
  • Grow vegetables for Esk Valley Camphill community, and if possible, the local community
  • Practice biodynamic gardening
  • Work together with other members of the land group
  • Work closely with and give guidance to the garden apprentice
